White Tower
When I captured this photograph I had a feeling remembering something similar. Now I found it – the easiest way, on Flickr Maps – and here it is: www.flickr.com/photos/94133326@N00/3409056424 – a capture by the Uppsala based photographer Georgios Karamanis. Thanks Georgios for the inspiration!

The very, very blue color is not a post processing thing. I used a polarizer filter…

Shadows
I’m quite pleased with this image. It doesn’t happen very often with my own captures. But for once this is a image I like.

Commuting to the North Pole
Winter still have Sweden in a very firm grip. I commute every day to Stockholm from the North Pole (Uppsala). It’s a trial. Every day is like a miniature polar expedition with cold, snow, poor road conditions and trains not running or running too late. This image was taken last night (March 4) in a small but anoying snowstorm. Today it’s sunny and -10 degrees outside. Where’s spring?

A snap-shot panorama on my way to work. The sun was hidden behind a lovely mist just a few moments earlier. I was late again…

Power station
The combined heat and power station is perhaps not the most beautiful view in Uppsala. It dominates the sky line in the eastern part of town but I am beginning to like the view more and more (from a distance).

Salagatan by night
My grandmother and grandfather lived in this house in Uppsala during the 70’s. I pass every day on my way home from work. For once it was clear and some light and the moon was up.

Winter biking
I really don’t understand people in Uppsala – the Capital of Bicyles in Sweden. It is -15 C outside and they’re biking around as if it where summer. Crazy.

Magic Night #1
First outdoor test of 24 L II. Can I use it in the almost dark? I used a monopod, ISO 1600, F/1.4 and got decent shutter times, 1/32. The trees where full of rime (it disapeared next day). A magic night!

White trees
This image is from a couple of weeks back. But it’s still absurdly cold and beautiful outside in Uppsala.
